NANOBACTERIA: AN INFECTIOUS AGENT THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH DIVERSE CALCIFICATION-RELATED MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Nanobacteria is a general term for either a newly discovered blood-borne microorganism believed to be a bacterium or a calcifying nanoparticle responsible for biomineralization deposits that serve to harden and stiffen human tissue. Nanobacteria are associated with many diverse calcification-related medical conditions and have been shown to infect humans as well as other mammals. Nanobacteria undergo cell division slowly, produce a biofilm, are resistant to heat and form a protective, biogenic calcium shell on their cell envelope.
Nanobacteria was initially discovered by various researchers in the 1980s and was classified as Ultramicrobacteria. Thereafter, Drs. Olavi Kajander and Neva Ciftcioglu at the University of Kuopioin in Finland observed that cultures of mammalian cells would die when contaminated with Nanobacteria. Subsequently, Kajander and Ciftcioglu classified these microorganisms as Nanobacterium sanguineum in 1998. Later, in 2003 the University of Vienna Medical Center announced that Nanobacteria were found in tissue samples from ovarian cancer patients. Numerous studies have subsequently been conducted that clearly associate Nanobacteria infection with many calcified-related medical conditions.
Notably, it is the protective, calcium shell formed by Nanobacteria that leads to calcified deposits in human tissue. In many instances, these calcified deposits are the direct cause of a number of medical conditions. Calcium is the most common mineral found in the human body and accounts for 1.5% of the body mass. Clearly, it is not the presence of calcium in the human body that is the underlying cause of diverse calcification-related medical conditions. Rather, it is the abnormal accretion of calcium in cells and tissues, initiated by Nanobacteria infection that is responsible for many calcification-related medical conditions.
Scientists have stained Nanobacteria with a DNA probe known as DAPI ( 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole ) that resulted in a significant preponderance of staining at the adenine-thymine base pair region within the minor groove of DNA thereby signifying the presence of nucleic acid.
