From the office of the Sound Healing Research Foundation:

The Sound Healing Research Foundation (SHRF) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to developing research projects to help bring Sound Healing and Therapy more into the mainstream (hospitals and homes). It also does this by providing information and resources to develop new research projects. The Foundation also disseminates information to the public.

What is Sound Healing?
Sound Healing involves the use of instruments and the voice, with the intention of healing, accessing happiness, or acheiving higher states of awareness and bliss.  LEARN MORE
How Sound Works
The basis of all sound healing is creating consistent, stable vibrations to overcome chaotic vibrations physically, mentally, and emotionally. It all contributes to peace and homeostasis. Results show up physically, mentally, emotionally and even Spiritually.  LEARN MORE

– Archetypal Frequencies – Auspicious frequencies that open keys to health and getting high.
– Timbres, or a combination of frequencies. Instrument Sounds and Syllables.
– Musical Intervals and Chords. The relationship between frequencies and timbres and everything in the Universe.
– Music. Melody and Rhythm. The Smooth flow without blockages is the definition of health.
– Energy and Intention. The most powerful of all!

David Gibson’s Music

We have been working with a professional Brainwave Researcher and have done EEG maps of those listening to David’s music on the sound table. It has shown that it commonly brings the brain into very consistent and stable alpha and theta brainwave rhythms.

Brain Research

There are several interesting avenues that the foundation is exploring around using binaural beat rhythms to entrain the brain into Delta (sleep), Theta (creativity and Oneness), Alpha (learning), Beta (thinking and overcoming ADD/ADHD), and Gamma (bliss).  ​

Brain Maps

One of the most interesting aspects of brain research is based around brain maps. Any state of consciousness is actually made up of multiple brainwave rates spread across the brain. We believe that the future of brainwave entrainment will involve entraining the parts of the brain into a whole brain map. Ultimately we can entrain the brain into higher states of consciousness including Gratitude, Compassion, Love and even Oneness.

Binaural Beats for Dementia

We are working directly with one of the largest Dementia research companies on a detailed research project involving Alzheimer’s patients at Paradise Valley Estates elderly center in Fairfield, California. Our first trials are simply working to entrain the brain into its natural rhythm.

Kaiser Hospital Connection

We are now working directly with Kaiser Hospital (Petaluma, San Rafael, and Sebastopol). They commonly now refer patients to us for treatments with sound for Anxiety and Pain Relief.
​
We conducted a workshop and multiple fairs for the doctors. Some of these doctors have been turned on to our Bass Pod and Sound Lounge systems. Interestingly enough, 75% of the doctors we met with had already been to a Sound Bath!

Music for the Integrative Therapy Department at Massachusetts General Hospital

Massachusetts General Hospital paid us to create a series of CDs for the Integrative Health Department. They include CDs for Depression, Sleep, Fatigue, Focus, Stress, and Headaches.

Music for Surgery at UC Medical Center Connection

We developed a wide range of CDs for surgery with one of their Anesthesiologists. We have guided meditation CDs that have proven to be extremely effective for before and during surgery, as well as many CDs for Post-Op. You can find the CDs HERE.

Treatment Plans for Autism

The Sound Healing Research Foundation has currently made a connection with an Autism Center in Richmond, California that works with over 100 autistic adults. We created a wide range of treatments that we will be testing. ​​

Research with Parkinson’s Patients

We did clinical research with a dozen Parkinson’s patients on our Sound Lounge, and were able to get rid of their tremors just about every time. Many of them were able to go down or off their meds by using our CDs, finally getting a good night’s sleep.   MORE INFO HERE

Sound and Music for Drug Addiction

We did workshops at a rehab center next to the Institute when it was in San Francisco. It is so inspiring to see people going into a complete state of peace and homeostasis so quickly. David’s music on the sound lounge has dramatically changed 100’s of people in two rehab centers in Chicago.

Tuning Binaural Beats to a Person

Based on the research of Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, using binaural beats to entrain the brain into a desired brainwave state is found to be more effective when the beats are tuned to the natural rhythm of a person’s brain in these states. In the end, getting someone’s brain entrained into a stable and consistent rhythm that is the natural rhythm for them is the ideal goal. Our Sound Therapy Center has been doing assessments to find a person’s natural rhythm for over 10 years.

Sound for Pain Relief

Sound for PTSD and First Responders

• There are two primary ways that sound and music can be used for pain. First, is to simply play music that gets people “high”, “in the zone”, heart open, or “blissed out”. Often pain goes away on its own, and occasionally, for good. Second, is to apply specific frequencies and timbres directly to the pain.  
• The Institute has developed a series of frequency CDs that are played directly on the body for pain and other issues. They are the most well researched frequencies in the field of sound healing. You don’t listen to them; you place the headphones right on the body where the issue is. Even more effective than headphones on the body is the Sound Lounge/Table. The Sound Pillow/Dolphin or Bass Belt can be placed right on the pain (if not too sensitive).
• We have CDs for muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, bones, circulatory system, respiratory system, endocrine glands, asthma, arthritis, brain, and depression.

• The most effective treatment is to put people on our Sound Lounge with David Gibson’s music.
• Ed Rupert is working with first responders in Colorado using our Sound Lounge paired with David’s music. Whenever first responders have a crisis, whether personal (suicidal ideation is not uncommon) or in the line of duty, Ed takes the Sound Lounge out to them in his van and puts them on it. He have has saved over 300 lives in just the last few years.  
• Another colleague is using the Sound Lounges for vets and has connected with the VA in Sacramento. He also reports dramatic results. One vet who was on 15 meds is now off all of them and back to normal after only 6 weeks of treatment. His work has been so effective that the VA is now talking to him about creating treatment plans for the VA Nationwide.

UltraSound on Micro-Tubules ​for Oneness

​Jeffery Martin has done research on using ultrasound frequencies on micro-tubules in the brain, in order to bring a person into a state of Oneness – sometimes called Unity Consciousness. Jeffery can even show when a person is in this state of Oneness using an EEG.
