Today, more than ever, a living organism, the planet Earth, needs our help to survive.

More people realize that the diversity of life on this planet, its ecosystems, and their interaction are the basis of our general well-being and health. It is necessary to expand this positive trend.

Biological resources allow us to meet our needs for food and clothing, as well as housing, medicines and spiritual food. The gifts of nature permit the most diverse branches of the economy, such as the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, recycling, construction and agriculture to exist. The loss of biodiversity threatens our food supply, as well as sources of water, woods and energy.

Thus, the preservation of the diversity of living organisms on Earth is a necessary condition for human survival and the sustainable development of our civilization. In addition, the majority of the world's poor live in rural areas, and their food and income directly depend on biodiversity. The Phoenix Voyage team contributes greatly to biodiversity preservation, with its program of installing Hamlet Parks in five different countries.

Their dream is to establish thousands of these parks around the world. This will help to achieve the goal of covering our planet with more plants: trees, flowers, and greens. These parks will also supply food to the communities and serve as an educational environment that is perfect for school trips or a family walk.

The outstanding work has been done in Tanzania just in one year. Now, the Phoenix Voyage partners at EnviroCare Tanzania are busy setting up community volunteers in four regions of their country alone.

EnviroCare Tanzania (ETZ) is a non-profit organization that works with farmers on a personal basis to work out their specific needs. Whereas some farmers might want fruit trees distributed on their land, others prefer natural windbreaks or living fences, which incorporate hundreds of trees within a farm.

Incorporating agroforestry practices into farming systems helps alleviate the pressure exerted on existing natural resources, resulting in a sustainable and resilient ecosystem.

To help their Hamlets thrive, EnviroCare Tanzania is offering scholarships for Hamlets established in Tanzania. Each approved Hamlet will receive 200 trees among which are evergreen and rare species such as: Neem, Khaya anthoteca, Cedrella odorata, Casuarina equistefolia, Acacia nilotica and a lot more.
