Although the cutting hands have been evidenced in many Egyptian documents and also in art until recently there was no archaeological evidence that such practice really existed. However, when excavating the 3,600-year-old palace in the once-great Egyptian city of Avaris, archaeologists discovered four pits. In the pits there were human hands, but not their bodies. Two pits were discovered in the outer part of the palace, and two were directly in front of the throne room, indicating that they had a ceremonial significance. In the pits that were in front of the hall, there was only one hand, while the other fourteen hands were buried in the other two pits.

Thus, Zeus decided that Delphi is the center of the world and omphalos was set on the exact spot where eagles met.
The Disciplina Etrusca is a generical name for religious knowledge of the Etruscans. They had many different religious texts collected into books but unfortunately, we have only fragments today. However, these fragments reveal much about the Etruscans, their religion and the understanding of the world. The Etruscans considered their religion as “revealed” and respected their prophets as Tages and Vegoia. Unlike many other religions, their revelation was not about the existence of one or many gods and these texts are not about theology nor mythology. The Disciplina Etrusca is knowledge of rites and techniques one must perform in order to enter into divine space.
