Sacred geometry is the doctrine of the forms of Space and the laws of the development of Existence in accordance with these forms. This definition is used by anthropologists, philosophers, archaeologists and people whose work is related to spiritual activity. It embraces a system of religious, philosophical and spiritual archetypes that are observed in different cultures.
The uniqueness of sacred geometry lies in the fact that its forms smoothly flow from one to another, just like our thoughts and emotions, thus developing consciousness. The sphere is simple and perfect in expressing unity. No preference is demonstrated to any point on its surface. Cells, seeds, atoms are all spheres. A combination of the cross and the sphere is the Egyptian symbol of life called ankh. This combination meant immortality. Many Gods of Egypt were depicted with an ankh in their hand. The circle is an outline of a sphere, which in all cultures is considered an image of the indivisibility and perfection of the Universe. It has no beginning and no end representing endlessness, perfection and eternity. The triangle can be considered a symbol of the sun. Three connected triangles are the symbol of the absolute, Pythagorean symbol of health.
Sacred geometry was used earlier in the construction of dwellings, but now it is used in the construction of temples and churches mainly.
Main practical aims of sacred geometry are: - to support us in a state of awareness of who we are, where we came from and why we are here; - to teach us to reflect deeply on the mysteries of existence and the ways of attaining spiritual perfection; - to turn us to ancient and modern knowledge about the spiritual worlds that provide the possibility of establishing equilibrium on all stages of existence; - to teach our souls responsibility for the deeds done, compassion and love. The science of sacred geometry unites the material aspects of creation with a spiritual essence. This is the interaction of the visible and invisible, the manifested and secret, the finite and infinite. Sacred geometric forms are an important means for spiritual growth. A person who does not imagine the power contained in geometric forms is deprived of many things. He loses the opportunity to be replenished by terrestrial and cosmic energy, which will inevitably affect his physical and spiritual development. Understanding the simple truths of sacral geometry leads to the deepening of consciousness and the opening of the heart, which is the next step in human development.
