and today, Wednesday I received this on skype:
"I am safe but everything is destroyed...no place to sleep... all bedding office furniture documents all equipment s every thing spoiled."
"Now I have to start from scratch and restore everything. I am very tensed and worried for college project now to restore everything... need $6500 for all damages."
and I replied : we will rebuild and fix up a little at a time. Just know that God is going to supply all.

Even though brain cancer was just the tip of the iceberg, the manipulation of flawed research studies, both in humans and animals around the early and mid-1970’s allowed Aspartame to slip under the radar and has been poisoning people ever since.
With over 10,000 products worldwide containing this highly toxic chemical, evidence has proved that Aspartame is the probable causing factor in the increase of most neurological disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Grand Mal Seizures, Brain Tumors, Cancers and many more disorders of the body’s nervous system since it’s allowed usage from 1983 and, is responsible for over 75% of cases recorded as an ‘adverse reaction to food’ which are reported to the FDA on a regular basis.
A documentary released in 2006; ‘Aspartame Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World’ by Cori Brackett, who herself was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002, highlights how this artificial sweetener has been allowed to seep into over 10,000 food products with little consequence of the damage it is doing to people. With testimonials from those whose lives have been drastically affected by this ‘approved product’ and open and honest interviews with several Dr.’s and researchers who fully believe the product is poison, it beggars’ belief that it is still being marketed as ‘legally safe to use’, when in actual fact it is silently killing us. In Cori’s case, in the search for her own truth, she got better after researching and cutting aspartame from her diet.
At one point in the documentary Cori interviews Diane Fleming, convicted of murdering her husband who died of a brain bleed due to methanol poisoning, methanol is one of the chemical compounds in aspartame and is particularly nasty as it is turned into formaldehyde, basically an embalming fluid, as the body tries to metabolize it. She currently is serving a 50 year sentence for 1st degree murder and ‘adulteration of a substance’. Her story is just one of many.
It would seem that for political and financial reasons, aspartame has been given full approval and complicity to damage our health and lives. Whilst it still continues to be legitimately marketed as a healthy alternative to sugar in disorders like obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease the only ‘sweet’ thing this product is responsible for… is lining the pockets of those who manufacture it. There is also undisputed evidence to show the aspartame causes carbohydrate cravings and weight gain…..
If the governing agencies, whose role is to protect are failing to do so, we must be more aware of what is going into our food, always read the labels. We are responsible for what we put into our mouths, it might take a little extra effort to put our foot down with products like aspartame, but the positive far outweighs the negative. Choosing natural over artificial is the healthier option any day. There are many alternatives to sweeteners, try raw honey, syrup, fruits, nuts and full fat natural yogurts.
Try making homemade foods, I personally find cooking quite meditative it’s my part of the day where I can ‘switch off’ and produce a yummy homemade healthy meal.
If you are struggling to get inspired, a good dietician will help to educate in swapping unhealthy food habits for healthier options.

Tanzania is a magical, heart-stirring, and breathtaking part of the world with luscious landscapes and one of the highest and most stunningly beautiful mountains in the entire continent. Including over 51 million citizens, dozens of majestic and marvelous wildlife, and rich, deep-rooted culture, Tanzania is without a doubt one of the last natural gems left on our planet.
However, deforestation has plagued this wonderful part of the planet for quite some time. The natural resources in this region are the lifeblood for every species that dwells here, and the most heavily populated areas with rich and dense natural assets are starting to become depleted.
While food and sources of energy are being produced and utilized, the more time and harvesting that goes on, the more depleted the land will become.
Though progress is being made, Phoenix voyage and EnviroCare Tanzania needs all the help it can get in nurturing in and continuing this progress.
Places like Tanzania and the issues that it faces are just one of many. If the work isn't done now, we will slowly find the rest of our planet going down the same road towards depletion of our resources and less sustainable and inhabitable areas for human beings to dwell in.

So when I was asked to watch the documentary ‘What the Health’ I wasn’t overly enthusiastic. Described by some critiques as ‘vegan propaganda’ this documentary produced and directed by Kip Anderson, Keegan Kuhn and Joaquin Phoenix, all themselves vegans, delves into an animal obsessed diet and the negative impact it has on our health and actually raises some really interest agendas. Not with the ethical debates of for or against eating another living creature, but more to do with the profit driven factory farmers, processed meat and dairy manufacturers and governments, whose unethical behavior and actions have impacted on our health and environment and have left us in the ‘disease trap’.
Opening with a quote from Hippocrates, the godfather of modern medicine:
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”
This couldn’t be further from the truth in today’s modern world as the documentary graphically shows. Footage of pig carcasses being prepared for meat production with oozing pus filled boils was enough to turn my stomach; thankfully I live in a part of the world where meat production is still respectful of its historical and cultural traditions.
What this documentary does do quite successfully is to highlight the mis-information being given to people. The ‘factory farming’ meat industry, as it stands today, is quite literally killing people prematurely and is a contributing factor in the development of some of the major diseases like cancer, heart disease and insulin resistant diabetes. Once we are in the disease trap, most of our Dr.’s are nothing more than well-educated puppets under the control of pharmaceutical companies who advise them on what to prescribe. In fact tell them you are a vegetarian or a vegan and they will most likely attribute your choice of diet as a contributing factor. The ‘disease’ industry is big business and once they have got us, we are on a fast track to being unhappy, unhealthy and on expensive prescription medications for the rest of our lives.
But is a plant only based diet the best option? Do we get enough of what we need in order to stay healthy, purely from plants? This documentary would have us believe that a plant only based diet will provide us with all nutrients: protein, carbs, natural sugar and essential vitamins.
Surely with all food products, if they are not being farmed ethically and in an environmentally conscious way, they are going to be detrimental to our health.
As the Hippocrates quote used at the beginning of the documentary states ‘all food is medicine and all medicine is food.’ A well-balanced diet containing all of the nutrients is the way we maintain our body and isolating one particular group in preference to substantiate ourselves is not going to achieve this in the long run, a plant only based diet does not provide us with all the nutrients we need and that is the truth. The choice of what we consume is a personal one, what is good for one may not be good for another but the choice for those of us who wish to eat meat and it’s by products now has major consequences, due to the profit hungry factory farms who seem to have no regard for the animal, the product they’re producing, the population consuming it or the environment.
For me this is where this documentary packs its biggest punch, not in the interviews with the Dr’s or the 2 week testimonials of people who switched to a plant only based diet and had great results, but in the fact that it is switching people on to what is actually going on within the processed food industry. In that respect, it is giving us the right information to make informed choices about what our body needs in order to escape the disease trap.
There are lots videos ‘debunking’ this documentary but there is one in particular that stood out. A fellow ‘former’ vegan and vegetarian turned farmer, he has some good points on why animals shouldn’t be taken out of the equation and the reasons against a plant only based diet. He doesn’t fully disagree with ‘What the Health’ admitting, like most of us who have seen it, that it does raise some serious issues. However we need to look at the bigger picture and see what’s really going on.
