Our new partner Chris has accomplished an amazing feat and here we share the play by play “boots on the ground” results! Here is a dialog between Kerrie Claire, Founder/Director Phoenix Voyage and Christopher Simwinga, Director EnviroCare Tanzania:

Thursday August 17
Chris: Hello! Today I met the first challenge, in 3 nearby villages people have land and would like to convert to the Hamlet project. Is it possible?

Kerrie Claire: As long as there are enough volunteers per Hamlet.... why not...we can get 1 kilo of seed and split it up and each Hamlet must have the core team to make sure it functions properly

Chris: Thank you, they are enough volunteers for each hamlet.

Kerrie Claire: then lets do it!

Chris: Thanks! They have big plots for future expansion, one have 7 acres and others not less than 5 so if they perform well then there could be big impact. All are near schools where students can go and learn.

Kerrie Claire: amazing...that's great!

4 days later...

Tuesday August 22
Chris: Hello! Just finished with the Phoenix Hamlet introduction and identification. I have introduced the project to the government authorities at regional levels. Very positive reception from the government. Have asked me to convey their thanks to you and we extend to reach to many communities. Community members have loved the project and are so cooperative.

Kerrie Claire: Amazing!!! Nice work Christopher!

We set out to identify 4 plot locations for the Phoenix Hamlet pilot project and with the hard work of Chris and enthusiasm of the community, we now have 10 locations!
